Nato secures ninth as Rowland narrowly misses out on points

Nissan Formula E Team earned a points finish during Round 15 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, as Norman Nato produced a great comeback to cross the line in the top-10. The Frenchman started 16th, but quickly made his way up the order, consistently showing competitive pace, gaining seven places to come ninth. In the #23 car, recently crowned Season 11 World Champion Oliver Rowland lined up in 12th. However, damage from contact during the E-Prix hampered his progress, with the Brit ending up just over a second off a points finish in 11th.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “It was not the race that we were expecting to have. We had a challenging start to the day as we lacked pace, particularly over one lap, which saw us struggle in Qualifying. After that it was always going to be difficult to recover from our position, especially with such an eventful E-Prix, but Norman did a great job to score some crucial points for the team. Oli suffered contact which damaged his car and hindered him late on. It’s getting more difficult in the battle for the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ Championships, however, we’ll continue to fight until the very end.”

“We struggled for pace all day - I felt like I did a good lap in Qualifying, but we just didn’t have the speed. The pace during the race was solid, but we got stuck behind cars before the Pit Boost stop and then I suffered contact. It was just one of those days, but we’ll try our best to turn this around tomorrow and end our great season on a high.”

Norman Nato

“London is always a tough track, and the E-Prix today was eventful, so it was important to try and avoid any damage throughout the race. I felt like we maximized our performance, moving up seven places to finish ninth. I’m pleased to score some points for the team, as it matters even more now in the battles for the remaining titles. We’ll focus overnight on improving our set-up, in particular for Qualifying, to ensure that we can battle further up the grid tomorrow.”
