Nissan Formula E Team secures double points finish on Sunday in Tokyo

Rowland finishes fourth with teammate Nato taking sixth

Nissan Formula E Team concluded its home Tokyo E-Prix weekend with both cars finishing in the points, as Oliver Rowland secured fourth place and Norman Nato sixth in Round 15 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The result marked a strong recovery from Saturday's race and rewarded an excellent overnight effort by the team in challenging conditions.

Following Saturday's race, the crew worked overnight to improve both cars ahead of Sunday's action. However, with Free Practice 3 cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, there was no opportunity to validate those changes or make any final adjustments. Despite going straight into qualifying, both Rowland and Nato progressed to the Duels on a constantly changing track, eventually lining up eighth and sixth respectively.

A wet circuit greeted the drivers at the beginning of the second E-Prix of the weekend. With weather conditions continuing to evolve, the team judged the changing track well and executed a strong strategic race.

After a lap behind the Safety Car, the E-Prix got underway and Rowland made use of his early Attack Mode to move further up the field. With the circuit beginning to dry up, the Brit showed excellent pace and advanced into the podium positions. After leading for a handful of laps, Rowland expertly managed his energy in the closing stages. Following a late red flag, the Brit held off the cars behind on the final tour to secure fourth.

In the #23 car, Nato struggled for grip in the opening half of the event, leading to him falling back. However, as track conditions evolved, the Frenchman took his final Attack Mode and delivered an amazing charge through the field, moving up seven positions during the six minutes. He crossed the line sixth, securing a valuable double points finish for Nissan Formula E Team at its home event.

Formula E now heads to London for the Season 12 finale and the last double-header of the GEN3 era on 14-16 August.

It was important for us to turn things around, especially at this stage of the championship and with it being our home event. Everyone worked extremely hard overnight and, despite not having the chance to validate our changes before qualifying, we adapted well. In these conditions, every decision counts, and the team did a great job to put both cars in the points. We've always been very competitive in Tokyo and, although we didn't quite have the same edge this year, it's good to finish our home weekend with such a positive result. Importantly, we head to the season finale in London with Oli still firmly in the fight for the Drivers' Championship, just 14 points off the lead. We know it won't be easy, but it's great to still be in contention going into the final weekend, and we'll give everything we have over the last two races.”
