Rowland clinches P3 in his 100th Formula E race while Nato misses out on the top 10

Nissan Formula E Team claimed its third podium finish of Season 12 with Oliver Rowland during Round 5 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, in the second race of the double-header at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Rowland delivered a strong qualifying performance, advancing to the semi-finals and lining up fourth, while teammate Norman Nato missed out on the Duels. The Brit led in the early stages of the E-Prix, consistently staying towards the front and managing his energy efficiently. He was then able to move into the top three during his final six-minute Attack Mode and secured his third podium of the campaign. On the other side of the garage, Nato was unable to advance through the field from 15th, eventually crossing the line in 17th.

Formula E now heads to Madrid on 20-21 March for a maiden race weekend at Circuito del Jarama.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “We’re pleased to get a podium this evening with Oli after a difficult day yesterday. Following last night’s race, we did a very thorough job on his car and checked all the settings to understand why we were lacking pace. I think this helped Oli reset and gave him renewed confidence heading into today, where he was quick throughout. On Norman’s side, he missed out on advancing to the Duels in an incredibly competitive qualifying group, and at this track it is very difficult to recover when you’re in the pack. The team worked tirelessly and did an amazing job overnight to ensure we could achieve this podium today, and I am proud of how they reacted and managed to turn things around. It’s been a challenging weekend, but it’s great to end it with a trophy as we head to Madrid.”

Oliver Rowland

“I’m delighted to score another podium here in Jeddah. I’ve struggled over the last two events with one lap pace, but we made many changes overnight and it paid off as we lined up fourth. I took up the lead in the opening stages to stay out of trouble as these peloton-style events can be dangerous when further back. It was a well-managed race and it’s great to be back on the podium. I want to say a massive thanks to the team who worked late last night making adjustments which made this result possible.”

Norman Nato

“It’s disappointing to not be able to build on the solid speed we’ve showed so far this season. It’s so incredibly close in Formula E that in Qualifying I was just under two tenths off going into the Duels. In the race it was very difficult to move forward with everyone being so tightly packed, and it was more about surviving. We also didn’t take Attack Mode at the correct time leading to limited progress being made. It’s frustrating to be leaving Jeddah without any points as I think we could’ve achieved more. However, that’s just the way it goes sometimes in motorsport and now the focus is on improving and preparing for the next race in Madrid.”
