Nissan Formula E Team successfully completes intense Pre-Season Testing in Valencia

The Japanese squad makes the most out of first official Season 12 action

Nissan Formula E Team continued its preparation for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, completing a very specific and ambitious testing program while also showing strong pace.

With World Champion Oliver Rowland debuting the #1 on his Nissan e-4ORCE 05 and Norman Nato sporting the traditional Nissan #23, the pair quickly got back into the rhythm of driving Formula E machinery ahead of December’s season opener in São Paulo.

Rowland completed 279 tours of the Spanish track, while Nato lapped the 4.005-kilometre circuit 265 times. The duo spent the majority of the test polishing performance features, validating mechanical parts and testing various set-up options, while also working on several qualifying and race scenarios to better prepare the squad for the upcoming campaign. Both drivers were also able to show their speed, each topping a session on Day 4, with Nato setting the fastest time in the morning, before Rowland followed suit in the afternoon.

Friday’s running will see the team’s rookie and simulator driver Abbi Pulling jump in the car to take on the second ever all-women’s test. It will be the F1 Academy champion’s third time in Nissan Formula E GEN3 Evo car, following the all-women’s test in 2024, which she topped, and the Berlin Rookie Test in July.

We had a very ambitious and specific program to go through, and we’re happy to have achieved what we came here to do and with the work that the whole team put in. It was important to get everyone up to speed again and to integrate our new team members and, while performance was not our focus this week, we’ve also managed to produce some very competitive times. Our drivers are now more confident with the set-up and we’ve collected lots of data to help us in the buildup to São Paulo, so we’re quite pleased with how the test has gone overall.

“We’ve still got the all-women’s test tomorrow with Abbi, which will be a great way to finish the week. It will not only be valuable for her but also an additional test day for us, building on all the work we’ve previously done with her on track and her ongoing work as our sim driver. We’re looking forward to seeing her back on track and tick off the last few test items while giving her some more experience in the car.”
