The Nissan e.dams Formula E team will hit the track for their first race this week and Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland are calling on Nissan fans to give them a leg up in the competition when Fanboost voting opens today.
Fanboost, an initiative created by Formula E to get fans more involved in the sport and the on-track action, is a boost of power granted to five drivers during the race.
Six days before the event is set to begin, fans begin casting their votes for their favorite driver. There are three ways to cast your vote, by going to fiaformulae.com/fanboost, voting in the Formula E app or tweeting support for your driver by using #FANBOOST and #SebastienBuemi or #OliverRowland.
The top five vote-getters will be given a five-second boost of energy they can use during the race.
When that driver activates their Fanboost power bump, magenta lights will be displayed on the cockpit halo. Historically, Sebastien Buemi shares the record for receiving the most number of #FANBOOST “wins” with 26.
“I really think we’ll be able to benefit from Fanboost this year,” said Nissan e.dams driver Oliver Rowland.
“I may be new to the championship, but Nissan has a huge fan base that I’m hoping will support Seb and myself by casting their votes in Fanboost for our first race and all year round.”
