Diriyah E-prix, Saudi Arabia

The 2022/23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues with the first double-header of the campaign in Diriyah on 27-28 January. Following the Gen3 era’s maiden race in Mexico City, the series travels to Saudi Arabia for an event that has quickly become a fans’ favorite.

First held in 2018, the Diriyah E-Prix is contested around the 2.495-kilometre Riyadh Street Circuit. The long run into Turn 18 provides an excellent overtaking opportunity, while the section between Turns 6 and 14 is often compared to a bobsleigh run, thanks to its downhill nature and fast, flowing corners.

The Diriyah E-Prix became Formula E’s only night race when the event was first held under lights in 2021 and is set to produce stunning views once again in 2023 as the new generation of Formula E machinery takes to the circuit.

Both drivers proved the strong race pace of the car, moving forwards in the race, with Norman Nato just missing out on points in P12.
